As per the charities guidelines published here (Customer Notice - Coronavirus), the Heliport will be closed to all members of the general public and all airbase visits and cheque presentations have understandably been cancelled.
Whilst Cardiff Heliport is closed to members of the general public, it will remain open and operational to all visiting pilots as a way of supporting the countries key infrastructure and 'critical' services such as Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), Search and Rescue (SAR) and utility patrol aircraft. RFF cover may be restricted on certain days due to staff-shortage. Visitng pilots will be notified accordingly. Jet A1 and Avgas 100LL is still available as normal.
We're keeping a close eye on the government guidelines as documented by Public Health England and as such; all visiting pilots/staff are to use the hand-sanitizers located around the Heliport and social distancing is expected of everyone where practicable.
Should the situation change in a way that would impact visiting pilots i.e change of hours or closure - Cardiff Heliport will endeavour to contact all operators that are due to visit and the information will be promulgated via the issue of a series 'E' NOTAM.
